Vegan Recipes: National Almond Buttercrunch Day
Posted on June 29 2015
National Almond Buttercrunch Day celebrates this toffee candy. Buttercrunch is a combination of toffee, covered with chocolate. It has a crunchy texture and a caramel flavor. Variations on the recipe include toasted almond sprinkles.
The sweet buttery crunch of this delicious Buttercrunch Toffee is paired with chocolate and toasted almonds for a winning combination.
This recipe is out of The Vegan Table by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau and was originally a jam thumbprint recipe.
These freeze really well if you don’t eat them all in one day.
The sweet toffee-based, richly-chocolate-coated, liberally-almond-sprinkled pure vegan buttercrunch!
If you leave them plain (i.e. No chocolate drizzle or crushed peanut topping), you get about 250 calories and 15 grams of protein per bar. With the chocolate and nuts, you get about 300 calories and 16 grams of protein. Plus, they’re delicious and filling.
Kids can help with this as it is no-bake and is very simple. If it doesn’t look perfect, it doesn’t matter, it’s all about the experience for your child.
