Vegan Recipes: National Hot Fudge Sundae Day
Posted on July 25, 2015
Now we honor an ice cream dessert combing hot and cold and loved by most, it is National Hot Fudge Sundae Day. Annually celebrated on July 25, we honor this tasty treat that has been served to many since hot fudge was first introduced in 1906.
Speaking of simple, this sauce only has five ingredients. Count them FIVE: coconut milk, cocoa powder, sugar, salt and vanilla. That’s it. Another perk? It’s completely vegan and way healthier than your traditional hot fudge sauce, loaded with butter, melted chocolate and who knows what else.
The basis for this recipe is simple: coconut cream, sugar, vanilla, cocoa powder, sugar and sea salt. Then in a fit of boozy glory you add in two shots of Kahlua – the ultimate coffee-flavored liqueur.
Hot Fudge Sundae. Decadent and delicious, this treat will win you raves…and no one will even guess it's vegan.
It can be put together in about 10 minutes and uses just one bowl, leaving you with a clean kitchen and a delicious chocolate cake in the oven. When it’s done, a cake-y dome rises from the cup, but hidden underneath is a rich, dark fudge sauce that will leave you licking the bowl.
